Job Title: Economist in Rural Development

We are seeking a highly skilled economist to join our team at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). The successful candidate will have a PhD in economics and several years of research experience, with expertise in spatial econometrics and spatial data analysis.

About the Role:
  • Design and develop research projects for the Scottish Government;
  • Bid for, conduct and manage contract research;
  • Engage in Knowledge Exchange activities, including through the Rural Policy Centre;
Key Responsibilities:

The post holder will be responsible for designing and developing research projects, bidding for and managing contract research, and engaging in Knowledge Exchange activities. The successful applicant will have a strong track record of winning research funding and be able to present information to a variety of audiences.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include a comprehensive pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, and access to professional development opportunities.
