NHS Specialist Health Nurse

You will be a vital core member of the colorectal multidisciplinary team providing specialist advice and support to both patients and their families as well as other healthcare professionals. This role requires a senior nurse with extensive experience in colorectal surgical nursing, oncology, or palliative care. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of supervising and teaching staff members, as well as experience in research and implementation of new practices.
Main Responsibilities
As a key worker for patients with colorectal cancer, you will provide clinical practice, clinical management, leadership, education, research, and audit in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will influence patient care through the delivery of supportive care requirements for patients with colorectal cancer, as well as undertaking and developing the risk stratified cancer follow-up programme.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Essential qualifications include a 1st Level RGN, Mentorship & Preceptorship or ENB998 or equivalent, and a degree in Nursing or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have advanced communication skills, extensive current working and theoretical knowledge of surgical or oncology nursing, and knowledge of colorectal cancer.
