About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant / Laboratory Manager to join the lab of Dr Lars Jansen. As a central pillar in the function and organization of a dynamic research team, you will assist team members in performing research projects in the area of chromatin and epigenetics in human cell culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in research projects, including elucidating the mechanisms of centromeric chromatin assembly and inheritance and developing methods to determine the contribution of cis-acting chromatin structure and trans-acting transcription factors in the maintenance of long-term memory following cytokine-mediated gene activation.
  • Act as a laboratory manager and team manager, ensuring the daily functioning of the research team, ordering supplies, stocking the lab, and using and maintaining lab equipment.
  • Train and supervise junior students and postdocs during their experimental work.

About You

Applicants should hold a Masters degree in the life sciences and have a background in Biochemistry / Molecular Biology or Molecular Genetics. You will have experience in human cell culture, transfection, transduction, single cell isolation, and genome editing, as well as the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities.

Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to help write text for publication and present data at research group meetings.
