About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Specialist School in Grantham. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) and helping them overcome barriers to education.

About the School

The school provides an inclusive and holistic learning environment for vulnerable children who struggle to attend mainstream school. Our mission is to support pupils and their families in gradually overcoming the barriers to education and providing accessibility to learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with complex SEMH needs in a Specialist School setting
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide personal care and support to pupils as needed
  • Manage challenging behavior and develop strategies to promote positive behavior support
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Needs in a school or similar setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and develop strategies to promote positive behavior support
  • Current DBS on the update service or willingness to provide a new one
