About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative SEN teaching assistant to join our collaborative team at Esland Grantham School. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to our young vulnerable children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and effective delivery of educational programs and manage processes and procedures in line with the philosophy of the company.
  • Be alert to signs of distress or abuse and take appropriate action.
  • Talk and listen to the young people and observe and record behavior when necessary.
  • Contribute to and implement care planning, reviews, and other meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to supervisions and staff meetings as required, ensuring smooth and comprehensive handovers take place and ensuring reporting rules and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Be prepared to physically intervene and restrain young people (following appropriate training).
  • Undertake all tasks and duties as directed by the HLTA or Headteacher, to support young people and manage and monitor pupil risk during educational activities.
  • Participate and support young people during outdoor and indoor activities.
  • Prepare and present displays of student work.
  • Work with other professionals, such as therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • GCSE Level including Math, English, and Science.
  • Teaching assistant experience (highly desirable).
  • Teaching assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates a high level of motivation and commitment.
  • Full manual driving license (desirable due to activities/location).
