Location: Grantham

Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client school in Grantham.

Job Summary:

You will work closely with children who have a range of learning difficulties, helping them engage with their education and achieve their potential. Your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant will involve offering both academic and emotional support, working alongside the teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Help implement individualised learning plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress to teachers and parents.
  • Encourage independence and confidence in students.
  • Help manage challenging behaviour in a positive and supportive manner.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or working with children with special needs is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ would be an advantage but optional.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient nature.
  • Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when needed.
  • A good understanding of SEN and strategies to support children with learning difficulties.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
