As a Medical Support Officer with the Royal Air Force, you will play a vital role in providing essential health services to both the RAF Medical Services and the wider Defence Medical Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide healthcare leadership and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
- Contribute to operational medical planning to ensure the effective deployment of medical resources.
- Manage medical logistics to sustain overseas deployments and ensure the smooth delivery of medical supplies.
- Develop and implement medical capability, development, and acquisition strategies to enhance the RAF's medical services.
- Design and deliver medical training for practitioners and HSS personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4-5 or SCE Standard Grades at Grade 2/Scottish National 5 in English Language, Maths, and three other subjects.
- Have at least 2 A2 Levels/3 Highers at Grade C or above (excluding General Studies or Critical Thinking) which must total a minimum of 64 UCAS points.
- Have a clinical healthcare background or NHS management experience.
- Be aged 17.5 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday).
- Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status).
- Commit to a minimum 12 years service.
- Meet the health and fitness criteria.
As a Medical Support Officer, you will receive comprehensive training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. This will include initial officer training, specialist training, and ongoing development opportunities to ensure you remain up-to-date with the latest medical practices and procedures.
