Apprentice - Level 3 in Engineering and Manufacturing Specialist

Gem Partnership is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Apprentice - Level 3 in Engineering and Manufacturing to join our team. As an Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting our production and manufacturing processes, ensuring that we meet customer and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct ongoing analysis and continuous improvement of existing processes to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Evaluate customer requirements to support new product activity and ensure that production processes meet customer needs.
- Responsible for production processes, tooling, jigs, and equipment to support new product introduction and continuous improvement of existing products.
- Provide technical support and assistance to production and maintenance teams, ensuring that production documentation and standard operating procedures are up-to-date and adhered to.
- Collaborate with other engineers, managers, and production staff to transfer processes into production and ensure smooth operations.
- Provide ongoing technical support and assistance to production and maintenance teams, ensuring that production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Work with production and operations management to decide the best means of meeting customer orders and ensure that production processes are efficient and cost-effective.
- Program, set up, and monitor production equipment and react to any changes outside normal operation.
- Analysis of internal KPI and yield metrics to drive improvements and ensure that production processes are optimized.
- Keep up-to-date all relevant documentation, systems, and records, including controlling calibration requirements for production equipment, tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
- Interact with suppliers to specify, develop, and implement efficient and cost-effective systems, equipment, and processes.
Candidates should hold at least a HND in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally degree qualified and have at least 2 years in a similar engineering role supporting fast moving manufacturing processes. Experience with systemic improvement methodologies such as six sigma or lean will be a distinct advantage along with exposure to automated/robotic manufacturing equipment.
