Clinical Fellow in Neuro-Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Fellow to join our Neuro-Oncology team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in clinical research and clinical trials, working alongside a team of experienced clinicians and researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct clinical research and clinical trials in Neuro-Oncology, under the supervision of experienced clinicians and researchers.
- Develop and lead clinical research projects, with a particular focus on the use of preoperative treatment strategies for brain cancer, including Tumour Treating Fields.
- Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including clinical oncology consultants, surgeons, pathologists, research nurses, therapists, registrars, radiologists, radiographers, and trial managers.
- Attend MDT and outpatient clinics as required by the supervising consultant, and participate in clinical research meetings and other relevant trial planning or trial set-up meetings.
- Review clinical data, write abstracts/manuscripts, plan new studies, and attend educational meetings.
- Medical Degree
- GMC registration
- International Academic English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent
- Have been awarded MRCP (or equivalent) status. Understanding of technical radiotherapy and functional imaging
- Experience in Clinical Oncology
- Experience of working in an academic environment
- Have demonstrated commitment to Neuro Cancers, including brain cancer
- A 12-month post with the possibility for extension to 24 months to support clinical research and to provide specialist experience and training for the successful applicant.
- Opportunities for clinical research within the neurooncology team, with previous clinical fellows having developed clinical research projects, or contributed to translational research studies, etc.
- Support for continuing professional development, including time and financial support for activities such as attending international meetings, writing papers and reviews, and undergoing an annual appraisal.
