Support Volunteer for Young People in Care

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a young person in care. As an Independent Visitor, you will be a constant adult presence in their life, providing support, guidance, and friendship.
About the RoleThe Voices That Influence service is recruiting for Independent Visitor Volunteers to work with children and young people in care. This role involves spending time with a child or young person, engaging in activities they enjoy, and providing emotional support and stability.
Children and young people in care often experience trauma and inconsistency, which can affect their mental health and well-being. As an Independent Visitor, you will be able to provide a consistent, trusting relationship that can help them build confidence and feel valued.
You will be matched with a care-experienced child or young person and will spend regular time with them, engaging in activities such as hobbies, sports, or simply chatting. You will also be expected to attend training sessions to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to support your match effectively.
Requirements- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a warm and non-judgmental approach
- Be able to commit to regular visits (at least once a month)
You will receive training and support to ensure you are equipped to carry out this vital role. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience working with children and young people.
In addition, you will be reimbursed for travel expenses and mileage costs associated with visiting your match.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this role is £12,000-£15,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. You will also receive reimbursement for travel expenses and mileage costs.
