We are seeking a highly skilled Early Careers and Talent Development Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining, servicing, and repairing our fleet to keep it on the road, delivering services to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing engineering recruitment within a fast-paced environment and designing and implementing attraction campaigns utilising online and offline methodologies.

Job Overview

As a Early Careers and Talent Development Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing hiring plans, managing the performance of the team, and providing reports on recruitment activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute hiring plans to ensure the attraction and employment of the right people, at the right time with the right skills through campaign coordination and managing individual recruitment requirements up to the point of joining the business.
  • Manage the performance of the team (Talent Acquisition Specialists and Coordinator) to meet recruitment KPIs and SLAs.
  • Coach and mentor members of the Talent Acquisition Team to develop their skills and experience.
  • Support the development of a compelling Employee Value Proposition that aligns to the Arriva brand and values and positively influences external candidates to join Arriva UK Bus.
  • Lead regular recruitment meetings with operational stakeholders to review performance and update on action plans as appropriate.
  • Refine and improve recruitment and system processes.
  • Provide reports on recruitment activity across the team as required.
  • Ensure all recruitment activity and record keeping is compliant with employment legislation and Data Protection.

Requirements

  • Prior experience of managing engineering recruitment within a fast-paced recruitment environment.
  • Proven experience of designing and implementing attraction campaigns utilising online and offline methodologies.
  • Experience of running recruitment events, internally and externally.
  • Confident with the use of digital advertising including social media.
  • Experience of workforce planning and future skills hiring.
  • Proven experience of apprenticeship hiring.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation in relation to recruitment.
  • Experience of working with recruitment systems and standard computer packages.

What We Offer

In addition to a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, you will receive a range of benefits including access to training and development opportunities, a generous annual leave entitlement, and a contributory pension scheme.
