Government Account Director - EU

GHGSat, a leading provider of greenhouse gas detection and monitoring services, is seeking an experienced Account Director to spearhead the sale of our satellite-derived methane monitoring products to European government customers.

This role requires a highly motivated individual with a strong track record of sales performance and experience in selling strategic solutions across EU government organisations & Institutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the EU government market and be able to build robust territory plans to grow existing accounts and break through at new ones.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing key client accounts while supporting new opportunities within Europe. This includes prospecting and handling high-value government prospects and customers, driving opportunities for product use cases around data, analytics, and emissions monitoring, and working with and mentoring account executives and sales development reps on their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage key client accounts while supporting new opportunities within Europe.
  • Prospect and handle high-value government prospects and customers.
  • Build robust territory plans to grow existing EU government accounts and breakthrough at greenfield accounts.
  • Drive opportunities for product use cases around data, analytics, and emissions monitoring.
  • Work with and mentor account executives and sales development reps on your team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or other relevant background.
  • 5+ years experience selling strategic solutions across EU Government organisations & Institutions.
  • Strong track record of sales performance.
  • Experience building and selling SaaS, Data and Business Analytics solutions.
  • Strong network at EC, ESA and/or PAN European organizations.
  • Strong governmental network at national level, notably within Germany, France, Italy, and/or Spain.
  • Experience in tracking prospective ITTs with ESA, EC, and national Agencies in Europe as well as sales lifecycle and procurement.
  • Experience in managing and winning proposals for government grants and R&D ITTs.
  • Strong team selling skills that involve cross-functional teams of generalist AEs, product management, and executive sponsors.

Salary: €120,000 - €150,000 per year, depending on experience. GHGSat offers a competitive salary, health and social benefits, including flex-time and continuing development.
