Accounts Payable Team Leader Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our client's team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a small accounts payable team.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the accurate processing of invoices, managing payment workflows, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires a combination of leadership, process improvement, and hands-on accounts payable skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role. Familiarity with finance systems, particularly Sage, is highly desirable. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support the accounts payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices.
  2. Resolve discrepancies, manage payment processes, and maintain compliance with policies.
  3. Identify and implement improvements, including automation opportunities.
  4. Generate reports and provide updates to management on team performance.
  5. Maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams.

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum. Location: Hybrid/Remote. Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
