About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Medical Typist/Admin Clerk to join our team in the Surgery & Anesthetic Department. This role will involve acting as a link between medical secretaries, ensuring accurate communication while maintaining confidentiality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for typing letters from outpatient clinics, general correspondence, and other administrative tasks as required. Additionally, they will support team members with clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, answering telephones, and uploading sensitive information onto patients' medical notes.
Key Responsibilities:- Action as a liaison between medical secretaries, ensuring accurate communication and maintaining confidentiality.
- Typing of letters from outpatient clinics and general correspondence as needed.
- Performing various clerical tasks to support team members, including photocopying, scanning, and answering telephones.
- Uploading sensitive information onto patients' medical notes and general administration.
In addition to these responsibilities, the selected candidate may be required to cover colleagues within specialties during absences, annual leave, or sick leave. They may also be asked to undertake job rotation for cross-cover and development purposes.
To ensure the smooth operation of equipment used, the candidate will need to verify that computers, printers, etc., are in working order and contact relevant departments/personnel if issues arise.
Qualifications and Requirements:- English and Math GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent, demonstrating high literacy and numeracy skills.
- RSA II typing/word processing certification.
- Willingness to undertake further development/training.
- Knowledge of software packages such as Word and Excel.
- Experience working with Winscribe digital dictation.
A DBS check may be required, which will be administered by the Trust at a cost of £54 (Enhanced). The candidate will also need to participate in the DBS Update Service at a cost of £16 per year.
Estimated Salary: £18,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience.We offer a range of flexible working arrangements, including part-time, job-share, flexible hours, and remote work options.
