Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced social worker to lead our team at the Papanui site. As a Child Wellbeing Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying the professional development needs of your team and ensuring they have the necessary support to grow their capability and practice depth.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the principles and purposes of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and an understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices. They will also possess excellent time management skills and be able to manage competing demands.

The salary for this role is between $111,020 and $133,696 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time position based at our Papanui site.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of social workers to provide support to tamariki and whānau.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and capability.
  3. Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
What You Will Need
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB).
  • Previous people management and/or mentoring experience is essential.
  • An ability to build and lead an effective team and be a team player.
