Child Welfare Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team at the Papanui site. This role involves working with children and families to make positive changes in our community. As a passionate advocate for whānau wellbeing, you will identify professional development needs of your team and support them to grow their capability and practice depth.
About the Role
This position requires an individual who is proactive, able to manage competing demands, and has excellent time management skills. You will be responsible for identifying professional development needs of your team and supporting them to grow their capability and practice depth. The ideal candidate will have a social worker qualification recognised by the SWRB and full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB).
Key Responsibilities
- Identify professional development needs of your team
- Support team members to grow their capability and practice depth
- Lead an effective team and be a team player
- Maintain a full, clean, valid driver's licence
- Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
Requirements
- A proactive approach that places the needs of tamariki front and centre in all decisions and actions
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing demands
- Knowledge of the principles and purposes of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices
