Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the administrative services for the Postgraduate School of Surgery and Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the listed specialities, including Training Programme Directors and senior clinicians.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate a programme of activity for postgraduate primary care and secondary care doctors.
  • Assist in other training programmes for the Post Graduate Medical Centre, including Educational Supervisors.
  • Oversee the delivery of Regional Training Days.
  • Organise and support the organisation of face-to-face and virtual meetings between trainees and members of their Training Committee.
  • Keep accurate financial records and produce financial statements.
  • Be an active member of the Cambridge University Hospitals Medical Education team, providing cover within the team as and when required.
  • Assist with the planning, organising and delivery of activities and events, including regional teaching, simulation training, and faculty development days.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education to degree level or NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
  • Customer Service/Business Admin/ITQ or equivalent professional experience.
  • Organising courses and events, including virtual and face-to-face events.
  • Arranging meetings using TEAMS.
  • Experience of promoting events through different media channels.
  • Secretarial and/or complex administrative experience.
  • Prioritising, planning, and organising own and others' tasks.
  • Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations.
  • Data entry experience and documentation.
  • Producing accurate financial costings for courses and events.
  • Ability to take minutes to a high standard.
