Position Overview

Are you ready to take on a leadership role in a dedicated psychology and occupational therapy team focused on mental health services for older adults? This is a unique opportunity for a Band 8B Principal Clinical Psychologist to spearhead the development and implementation of the Stepped Care Therapies Service tailored for older individuals.

The successful candidate will join a clinical leadership team, contributing to the service's strategic direction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Please note that this role requires independent travel throughout the region, adhering to strict timelines. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential, as public transport is not a viable option for this position.

This team collaborates closely with social workers, psychiatrists, mental health nurses, and memory assessment services, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care.

Clinical responsibilities will encompass approximately three out of five working days, including case reviews, formulation, direct supervision, and training. You will also be involved in developing integrated interventions for individuals with chronic conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A doctoral-level qualification in clinical psychology.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a clinical psychologist.
  • Experience in supervising trainee clinical psychologists.
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health settings, particularly with older adults.
