Position Overview

Are you ready to take on a leadership role in a dedicated psychology and occupational therapy team focused on the mental health of older adults? This is a unique opportunity for a Band 8B Principal Clinical Psychologist to spearhead the ongoing enhancement and implementation of the Stepped Care Therapies Service tailored for older individuals.

The successful candidate will join a clinical leadership team within the service and directorate, contributing to the strategic direction and quality of care provided.

Key Responsibilities

Please note that this role requires independent travel across the region to meet strict deadlines. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as public transport is not a viable option for this position.

This team collaborates closely with social workers, psychiatrists, mental health nurses, and memory assessment services, ensuring a comprehensive approach to care.

Your clinical responsibilities will encompass approximately three out of five working days, including case reviews, psychological formulation, direct supervision, and the delivery of training. You will also develop integrated interventions for individuals with long-term health conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a clinical psychologist.
  • Experience in supervising trainee clinical psychologists.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Clinical Psychologist status.
  • Post-doctoral training in specialized areas of psychological practice.
