About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Fostering Support Worker to join our Mainstream Fostering Team at Powys County Council. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to foster carers, children, and young people, promoting their wellbeing and empowering them to overcome challenges.

About You:

To succeed in this rewarding role, you will need to be passionate about supporting children and young people, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in child development and understanding the impact of trauma on a child's development is highly desirable. You will be able to use your initiative, work collaboratively as part of a professional network, and have a valid driving license with access to a car.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide emotional support and guidance to foster children and young people.
  2. Work closely with foster carers, social workers, and schools to advocate for the families' wishes and feelings.
  3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
  4. Support children and young people in their daily lives, promoting their independence and self-esteem.
