About the Role: Fostering Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Fostering Support Worker to join our Mainstream Fostering Team at Powys County Council. As a Fostering Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people in foster care, working closely with foster carers and their families to promote wellbeing and stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people in foster care, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers, social workers, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans.
  • Conduct regular home visits and participate in meetings to ensure the needs of children and young people are being met.
  • Offer training and support to foster carers to enhance their skills and confidence.

Requirements:

  • You must be motivated, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Prior experience working with children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma or adversity, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong relationships with foster carers, social workers, and other stakeholders.
  • A valid driving license and access to a car are required for travel between locations.
