Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Sanctions Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Crime department, you'll be responsible for handling and providing expert guidance on complex sanctions cases. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring our compliance with sanctions regulations and maintaining the integrity of our operations across various jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sanctions Breach Escalation: You'll work closely with our Compliance Oversight teams to escalate sanctions breaches and review and assess sanctions risks related to business development, joint ventures, and mergers/acquisitions.
  2. Risk Assessment & Business Support: You'll provide advice to embed our Sanctions Policy in business and operational processes, participate in sanctions risk assessments, and assist in reviewing global Fincrime Operations procedures.
  3. Training & Mentoring: You'll provide targeted training to enhance our sanctions screening and handling capabilities and work with our local training team to ensure that fincrime training is up to date for all employees.
  4. Governance & MI Reporting: You'll build and deliver monthly management information (MI) reports related to sanctions escalations and risk mitigation and ensure the governance of the sanctions escalation process.
  5. Incident & Issue Management: You'll align with our Compliance Management Team on incident validation standards and methodologies and participate in global forums for incident management.
  6. Sanctions Remediation & Project Support: You'll lead on ad-hoc sanctions projects and contribute to our sanctions remediation program and drive improvements in our Know Your Customer (KYC)/Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes.

Requirements

  1. Extensive experience in financial crime compliance, with a strong focus on sanctions regulations.
  2. Proven ability to handle complex sanctions escalations and deliver strategic guidance on risk management.
  3. Strong knowledge of global sanctions laws and regulations, and experience working with regulators and authorities.
  4. Ability to mentor and train junior staff on sanctions compliance.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions.
