We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Sanctions Expert to lead our global sanctions strategy and compliance function, driving business growth while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a best-in-class sanctions framework, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business strategy and objectives.
  • Identify, design, and implement controls to manage sanctions risks and legislation, ensuring compliance with UN, UK, EU, and US sanction regimes.
  • Enhance the Bank's sanctions approach towards different client verticals and solutions, including 3rd party customer risk.
  • Participate in internal or external audit reviews, including regulatory reviews, to ensure robust compliance and risk management.
  • Take a leading role in sanctions matters, upskilling senior team members to manage these responsibilities effectively.
  • Monitor and analyse developing legal and regulatory changes, performing impact assessments where required.
  • Manage, empower, and continuously develop talent across the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversight of financial crime reporting to senior leadership, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with deep sanctions subject matter expertise, along with a robust understanding of risk management principles. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within sanctions, focusing on advisory, prevention, or exposure.
  • A deep understanding of UN/UK/EU/US sanction regimes and in-depth working knowledge of sanction policies, regulations, and enforcements.
  • Proven management experience of sanctions teams, executing strategic agendas within a matrix environment.
  • Experience in sanctions-related system development, testing, and implementation.
What We Offer
