Permanent Approved Mental Health Professional Job Opportunity

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Approved Mental Health Professional to join their team on a permanent basis in Worcestershire.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of up to £55,105 per annum.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To conduct timely and thorough Mental Health Act assessments in various settings, including community, psychiatric hospitals, and other relevant locations.
  • To prepare comprehensive reports and make applications to the Magistrates Court for warrants under the Mental Health Act.
  • To work collaboratively with the County Councils Legal team and the AMHP Manager to prepare reports and present evidence in relation to the appointment of Acting Nearest Relatives.
  • To prioritize and manage AMHP referrals effectively, working closely with the Team Manager.
  • To deputize for the Team Manager as required.
  • To maintain professional registration and engage in ongoing professional development, attending relevant training, workshops, and meetings.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of and respect for individuals' qualities, abilities, and diverse backgrounds, and to identify and address any potential discriminatory practices.
  • To consider alternatives to informal or compulsory admission, providing tailored advice and information to individuals and their carers, and referring to other agencies as necessary.
  • To prepare reports of AMHP work within established time frames and guidelines, utilizing appropriate recording methods.
  • To write court reports and provide evidence in relation to adults at risk during legal proceedings, as required.
  • To build professional relationships with organizations, agencies, and stakeholders to improve joint working and effective service delivery.
  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, participating in relevant training activities and encouraging staff development.
Requirements:
  • A social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body.
