Job Overview

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Nursing for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities to lead and deliver outstanding nursing services across our mental health and learning disabilities sectors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide and take responsibility for nursing and leadership, building, motivating and developing a team of nurses to drive forward service transformation across MH&LD services.
  • Hold responsibility jointly with other members of the MH&LD team for the strategic direction and operational delivery of services.
  • Be professionally accountable for the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective care for services within the sphere of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously promote multidisciplinary working and review the workforce plan for the future.
Key Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Masters level qualification in management/leadership or equivalent knowledge and extensive experience to Masters level in a senior leadership role within the area of speciality.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional development.
  • In-depth professional specialist knowledge and experience of managing a number of disciplines acquired through training and experience over a significant period.
