Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students who exhibit challenging behaviours or require additional emotional support.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring they can engage fully with their education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Students: Work directly with students who require additional emotional support. Provide one-on-one assistance as well as small group interventions.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement strategies for managing behaviour effectively within the classroom and during school activities.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, documenting changes in behaviour and academic performance.
  • Crisis Intervention: Be prepared to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations.
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges or special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with students from diverse backgrounds.
