About the Role

MAT Recruitment invites applications for a SEMH Teacher position, where you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Student Progress Tracking: Regularly track and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, ensuring a cohesive support system for students.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes positive relationships and encourages student engagement.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEMH and alternative provision education.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Behaviour Management Experience: Demonstrate proven experience in behaviour management and restorative practices.
  • Strong Relationships: Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Resilience and Adaptability: Be resilient, empathetic, and committed to working in a high-support, high-challenge environment.
  • Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, families, and other stakeholders.

Salary Details

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
