Job Title: Data Centre Design Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Design Manager to join our team. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and reviewing project designs for client compliance, technical accuracy, and best value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and review project designs for client compliance, technical accuracy, and best value
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and monitor design progress
  • Oversee the development of Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDP) and Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP)
  • Manage design document reviews, client approvals, and end-of-stage sign-offs
  • Participate in buildability and sequencing reviews to improve project outcomes
  • Coordinate with Package Managers on Contractor Design Portions proposals
  • Ensure timely delivery and approval of design information for construction
  • Liaise with site operations teams during construction, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Manage the discharge of planning obligations and building control approvals
  • Assist in the production and review of as-fitted drawings and handover documentation
  • Oversee the delivery of environmental information for certification processes (e.g., BREEAM, LEED)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing complex design processes in Data Centre or mission-critical facility projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • Experience with design review processes and quality assurance in construction projects
  • Familiarity with building regulations, planning processes, and environmental certifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify value engineering opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in design management software and Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., RIBA, ICE, CIOB, EC) and a valid CSCS card
