About the Role:

The Production Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of materials and assemblies to our customers. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage orders and promise dates on the JD Edwards system to support final assembly line (FAL) with accurate status information and on-time deliveries against original promise dates.
  • Daily planning of FAL requirements to ensure that they are manufactured and delivered in the quickest time possible.
  • Cross-functional working to ensure OTD against OPD (Original Promise Date) including expediting parts from in-house and out-sourced areas, making sure they are booked in on time, passed through the receipt routing process, kitted into assemblies with no shortages, delivered into the shipping area and dispatched.
  • Flexibility of working to ensure OPDs are met through the timely processing of parts received through the cell.
  • Maintaining JD Edwards stock accuracy.
  • Keeping accurate records both on paper and through the scanning system.
  • Producing non-conformance reports where appropriate and taking the NCR process through to completion.
  • Supporting the Business in the implementation of Continuous Improvement and Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Actively partaking in the ongoing development of the business MRP system.
  • Ensuring conformance to departmental procedures in all activities.
  • Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders across the business to achieve objectives.

Requirements:

  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient use of computer systems and software applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP or MRP software preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous production planning experience in a related industry.
  • Good communication skills.
