About the Role

As an Arable Schemes Technical Manager at Intertek, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support to our customers, farmers, and standard owners. This role involves working effectively with various stakeholders, including Standard Owners, Auditors, Farmers, and Support Staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate and assist with customer and farmer technical queries in relation to the arable schemes in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for all Agri staff in the field and our client services team in a timely manner.
• Assist the field team in creating a highly trained, skilled, and competent assessor pool for the arable work Intertek SAI Global offer according to scheme requirements and protocols.
• Assist in certification for the Red Tractor Combinable Crops Schemes, LEAF, and other Red Tractor or combined schemes you are skilled in, along with bolt-ons in this area.
• Ensure relationship, KPIs, and financial management of these schemes are key focuses.
• Liaise and communicate with Red Tractor and standard owner personnel in line with relevant protocol timelines and process.
• Assist in training and witnessing for the schemes you are skilled in as required.
• Ensure own witnesses in the schemes you work within are completed in required time frames.
• Be able to make certification decisions for the schemes with a solid understanding of the impacts and process involved when suspensions and withdrawals occur.
• Review and monitor incoming reports and provide assessor feedback where applicable.
• Review and monitor documentary evidence and final approval of assessment reports.
• Assist in preparation and delivery of assessor and certifier training.
• Support the Scheme Manager on regular updates on scheme performance, attrition, and certification accumulation.
• Assist on your schemes for accreditation purposes as required.
• Work with the Agriculture Director and other managers when needed to ensure customer and standard owner expectations are met, feeding back where resource/issues are noted by scheme.
• To operate within core business working hours of 9am and 5.30pm unless prior approval given.
• Where required, this role may involve the need to travel, stay away, or undertake additional hours to enable completion of key tasks and scheme responsibilities.
