Expert Lymphoedema Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Expert Lymphoedema Therapist to join our team at South Bucks Hospice.
Job SummaryThis is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to develop their skills and knowledge in lymphoedema care, working with patients living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.
About the JobThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding of lymphoedema and be able to demonstrate a consistent high standard of work and attention to detail. They will also be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff, and have a calm temperament under pressured conditions.
The role involves providing treatment and care to patients suffering from lymphoedema, working with the team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, and maintaining patient safety and providing physical, emotional, and psychological support to patients and carers.
Key Responsibilities- To provide treatment and care to patients suffering from lymphoedema to ensure that patient comfort and long-term health care is benefited in line with their individual patient treatment needs.
- Work with the team, using a patient-centered approach and evidenced-based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge.
- Evaluate referrals from medical and non-medical practitioners in line with South Bucks Hospice's policies and procedures and carry out initial assessments for those referred for lymphoedema.
- Taking a wider view to patient care by supporting community teams in their practice of patients with Lymphoedema.
We are looking for an individual who is:
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of lymphoedema and its impact on patients.
- Able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
- Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
We offer a competitive salary of £34,320 per annum (FTE), pro-rata 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing with length of service, and the option to remain in the NHS Pension Scheme or join an employer contributory pension scheme. Free on-site parking is also provided.
