Supporting Students and Families in Central Norwich

We are seeking a dedicated professional to work under the guidance of the Deputy Headteacher for Student Welfare. This role is crucial in supporting students and their families, helping to reduce barriers to learning and fostering a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide learning and pastoral support to pupils, offering feedback on progress, achievement, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Supervise pupils excluded from or not working to a normal timetable, such as those on part-time timetables or work experience.
  • Develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements and support pupils in distress needing time out from their normal schedule.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team, support agency representatives, pupils, and parents as part of the reintegration or behaviour review process.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies.
  • Manage a caseload under the supervision of the LSC Manager, responding constructively to parent/carers exchanges to encourage support for their child's education.
  • Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies.
  • First aid training is desirable but not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies. The salary for this position is estimated at £13 - £15 per hour, based on the location and job requirements.
