The successful candidate will work on behalf of a local authority in a hybrid capacity, splitting their time between offices in Kettering and Corby. This arrangement offers a flexible work environment with a balance of remote and on-site work.

The Homeless Case Specialist will play a crucial role in triaging and casework, making informed decisions to expedite the assessment process for homeless applications. A thorough understanding of part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 is essential for this position.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent housing advice and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are also highly desirable.

One of the key responsibilities of the Homeless Case Specialist will be to work closely with local authorities to identify and implement effective strategies for reducing backlogs and waiting times for homeless applications. This position requires a high level of autonomy and the ability to work independently, making decisions and taking initiative as needed.

The Homeless Case Specialist will also be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of homeless cases, providing recommendations for support and services to address the needs of individuals and families affected by homelessness.

Requirements: Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance is required for this position. A flexible and adaptable approach to work is essential, as well as a strong commitment to addressing homelessness and improving the lives of those in need.
