About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Practitioner to join our team at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical tasks such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory observations.
  • Collect blood samples via venepuncture.
  • Process, store, and ship samples in the laboratory.
  • Co-lead/lead on a portfolio of trials, completing eCRF/CRFs, data query resolution, ISF maintenance, coordinating patient visits, and trial assessment activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external CRA/sponsors/R&D, attending Study Initiation Visits, and hosting Monitoring Visits.
Requirements
  • Degree in life sciences or related field or equivalent theoretical knowledge.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • GCP certification.
  • Flexible and positive approach to work.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with electronic case report forms and computer packages.
  • Experience supervising others.
  • Experience of working on clinical trials of drugs, therapies, or interventions.

The National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Facility (CRF) for Experimental Medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust provides state-of-the-art facilities and world-leading expertise to support the NHS, universities, and industry in conducting groundbreaking experimental medicine studies.

The CRF is comprised of five units located across our sites, including the Guy's CRF incorporating our phase I unit, St Thomas' CRF with a unit focus on experimental and cardiometabolic research, our Imaging CRF, built around patient pathways across St Thomas' Hospital, the Children's CRF located within Evelina London Children's Hospital, and the Royal Brompton CRF.

We are uniquely placed to deliver Phase I commercial and non-commercial patient-focused studies, with MHRA Phase I accreditation for our Guy's CRF unit. Our CRF is the only one in the UK with embedded Advanced Therapies Manufacturing (GMP) and immune monitoring platforms.
