At Scottish Water, we're committed to safeguarding Scotland's most precious natural resource. As a Field Automation Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our wastewater treatment systems.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs, installations, and maintenance of wastewater treatment sites, utilizing your electrical and mechanical skills to ensure optimal system performance.
  • React to incidents and tackle planned work, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations and customers.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement safe working practices.
  • Undertake a range of electrical craft skills, including fault finding, diagnosis, and maintenance of motors, motor starters, generators, lighting, and variable speed drives.
  • Perform general mechanical craft skills, such as maintenance or removal of pumps, pump component replacements, and fitting, pipe disconnections, and mechanical devices.
  • Collaborate with our internal and external customers to provide updates and ensure excellent customer service.

Your Requirements

  • Hold a full apprenticeship and an HNC or NC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Be proficient in calibration of instrumentation and have experience with telemetry systems.
  • Be 17th/18th Edition trained and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have a good knowledge of MS Office, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Hold a valid UK driver's license.
