About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Automation Specialist to join our team at Scottish Water. As a key member of our wastewater team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. React to incidents and tackle planned work to ensure the efficient operation of our wastewater treatment systems.
  2. Undertake risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement safe working practices.
  3. Perform electrical and mechanical craft skills, including fault finding, diagnosis, and maintenance of equipment.
  4. Configure and support telemetry systems, including PLC, IMCC, and SCADA systems.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external customers to provide excellent customer service and support.

Requirements

  • Completed apprenticeship and HNC or NC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in calibration of instrumentation and electrical craft skills.
  • 17th/18th Edition trained and proficient in working with 3-phase and single-phase equipment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid UK driver's license and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
