Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Recruit Mint in St Neots. This is a senior leadership position responsible for managing and coordinating all Maintenance Team operations, guiding the crew to achieve business objectives, and consistently managing Maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).



About the Role

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a problem-solving mindset, and experience in managing a Maintenance department. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining a vision and roadmap for the Maintenance department, generating, analyzing, and controlling maintenance KPIs.



Responsibilities

  1. Create and maintain a clear strategy for the Maintenance department
  2. Develop and implement plans to improve Maintenance efficiency and reduce costs
  3. Identify and address areas of waste in the Maintenance process
  4. Manage maintenance spend and ensure work is done within budget and time constraints
  5. Investigate opportunities to move Corrective Maintenance events to Preventative Maintenance
  6. Support new projects and develop relationships with new suppliers
  7. Oversee third-party contracts and contractor services
  8. Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions with direct reports
  9. Monitor absenteeism and adjust working hours as needed
  10. Foster a safety-first culture within the Maintenance team
  11. Lead a team of 4 direct reports and 33 indirect reports


Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a problem-solving mindset, strong leadership and motivational skills, experience as a Change Agent, and previous experience managing or working in a Maintenance department within manufacturing. A Green Belt / Lean Six Sigma Qualification and experience dealing with Contractors are also desirable.
