Job Title: Mechanical Craftsperson - Crane Maintenance Specialist

Department: Crane Maintenance Team

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Craftsperson to join our Crane Maintenance Team at Tata Steel Colors Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our overhead cranes to ensure peak operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes to prevent downtime and ensure safety.
  • Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on existing schematics within set timelines.
  • Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
  • Engage in the refurbishment of current machinery.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
  • Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
  • Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments in accordance with our Safety Sub Plan.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in the steel or construction industry.
  • Possession of an NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong risk assessment skills and the confidence to address safety concerns.
