Location: Shotton

Salary: £33,477 - £36,651 + Bonus

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Craftsperson to join our Crane Maintenance Team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our overhead cranes, ensuring they operate at peak performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes, including lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of parts.
  • Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on existing schematics within set timelines.
  • Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
  • Engage in the refurbishment of current machinery.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
  • Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
  • Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments in accordance with our Safety Sub Plan.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in the steel or construction industry.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong risk assessment skills and the confidence to address safety concerns.
