About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oncology Specialist to join our team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. As a Consultant Medical Oncologist, you will play a vital role in providing a comprehensive service in Oncology.

Job Summary
  • Provide expert care and management to patients with various types of cancer, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct medical audit and research as appropriate, contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.
  • Ensure seamless communication between hospital staff and patients, guaranteeing timely access to necessary information and resources.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest acute and community providers in the West Midlands, offering a wide range of services across multiple sites.

Our trust provides services from:

  • New Cross Hospital - secondary and tertiary services, maternity, Accident and Emergency, critical care, and outpatients;
  • West Park Hospital - rehabilitation inpatient and day care services, therapy services, and outpatients;
  • Cannock Chase Hospital - general surgery, orthopaedics, breast surgery, urology, dermatology, and medical day case investigations and treatment (including endoscopy);
  • More than 20 community sites - community services for children and adults, walk-in centres, and therapy and rehabilitation services;
  • Primary care - Ten GP practices have now joined us and offer extended opening hours to patients.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A higher medical degree, preferably in oncology or a related field.
  • Substantial experience in oncology, including subspecialty training or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
