We are seeking an experienced Cancer Care Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. As a Consultant Medical Oncologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our oncology services.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest acute and community providers in the West Midlands, with over 850 beds on the New Cross site. We provide a wide range of services from secondary and tertiary care to maternity, Accident and Emergency, critical care, and outpatients.

We have multiple locations across the region, including New Cross Hospital, West Park Hospital, Cannock Chase Hospital, and numerous community sites. Our goal is to provide exceptional patient care while fostering a positive work environment for our staff.

Job Description

Your primary responsibility as a Consultant Medical Oncologist will be to provide a service in Oncology, working collaboratively with Consultant and Senior colleagues. You will take part in medical audit and research, ensuring that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff to contact you when necessary.

You will also contribute to the development of our oncology services, participating in subspecialty training or equivalent. A Higher Medical Degree is required, along with specific experience gained via training to CCT level.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around £150,000 - £220,000 per annum, depending on your experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong clinical background, with experience in Oncology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

A Higher Medical Degree is essential, and subspecialty training or equivalent is highly desirable. You should also be registered with the General Medical Council and have a good understanding of the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and its structures.
