Deputy Chief Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Pharmacist to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the pharmacy services in paediatrics and maternity, providing expert clinical pharmacy input, and managing a team of pharmacists and technicians.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the pharmacy services in paediatrics and maternity, ensuring high-quality drug use and effective risk management.
- Provide expert clinical pharmacy input to the multidisciplinary team, improving patient care and outcomes.
- Manage a team of pharmacists and technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
- Develop and implement clinical governance initiatives, improving medicines management and use in paediatrics and maternity.
- Coordinate and deliver projects, improving pharmacy services and patient care.
- BPharm/MPharm or equivalent qualification.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
- Management qualification or equivalent experience.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills in paediatrics and maternity.
- Ability to innovate and implement change.
- Significant years of post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy.
- Relevant experience in leading and managing pharmacy services.
- Experience in clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrable ability to meet Trust values.
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities.
