Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at our Wallasey Service Centre. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and collect wheelchairs to and from service users' homes and NHS departments, adhering to our Infection Control Policy.
  • Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field, aiming for a first-time fix whenever possible.
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including parts used and actions taken, to update the database.
  • Observe regulations covering driving and vehicle use on public highways and adhere to Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Perform weekly vehicle safety checks and maintain a professional customer service attitude.
  • Be responsible for tool and equipment maintenance and safekeeping, as outlined in the Company handbook.
  • Agree to undertake necessary training to maintain required skills for this role.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Successful enhanced DBS check
  • General workshop knowledge
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including 12v/24v
  • Previous delivery driver experience
  • Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and environment changes
  • Ability to use a mobile phone to relay photographs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Flexible working and responsiveness to changing priorities
  • Availability for short notice overtime due to emergency response requirements
  • Responsibility for out-of-hours duties
