Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Ross Care. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and collect wheelchairs to and from service users' homes and NHS departments, adhering to our Infection Control Policy.
  • Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field, aiming for a first-time fix whenever possible.
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork for each job, including parts used and actions taken.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed and maintain a tidy vehicle.
  • Participate in out-of-hours duties when rostered and adhere to driving regulations.
  • Maintain a professional customer service attitude and wear uniform and identification badge.
  • Prioritize and organize workload, referring to Line Manager as needed.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of tools and equipment provided by the Company.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Successful enhanced DBS check.
  • General workshop knowledge and basic electrical knowledge.
  • Able to move and handle loads and equipment safely.
  • Experience in face-to-face customer contact and delivery driving.
  • Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities.
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and environment changes.
  • Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Moving and handling equipment and accessories.
  • Standing at a bench to work.
  • Kneeling/crouching.
  • Working in confined spaces if necessary.
