Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced author to join our team at the Ministry of Defence. As a Submarine Warfare Author, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and maintaining operational publications on all aspects of submarine warfare and CIS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and write high-quality publications on submarine operations and CIS
  • Maintain a close liaison with authorities and contractors to ensure timely provision of accurate and safe publications
  • Monitor developments in the subject area and assess the need for amendment action to publications
  • Ensure Subject Matter Knowledgeable Person (SMKP) status is maintained through continual development and training
  • Work closely with the publications sponsor to provide professional advice and guidance on publications and contents
  • Quality check output from outsourced hard copy printing and electronic publication CD cutting
  • Establish and maintain a network of contacts to ensure distribution of publications
Requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of submarine operations and CIS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft-based software
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
