About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Planning Officer to join our 29-strong Strategic Planning and Development Control Service at East Cambridgeshire District Council.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of the strategic planning service, covering matters such as development plans, neighbourhood plans, regional planning, supplementary planning, monitoring, and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of the Local Plan and neighbourhood plans
- Contribute to the preparation of Supplementary Planning Documents and the Statement of Community Involvement
- Assist parish councils in their preparation of neighbourhood plans and/or orders
- Deputise for the Strategic Planning Team Leader as required
Requirements
- Degree or post-graduate qualification in Town and Country Planning or a closely related subject giving eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute
- Substantial experience of working in the fields of planning policy and/or statutory development plans
- Experience of delivering presentations to a wide range of audiences
