Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced planning professional to join our Strategic Planning and Development Control Service at East Cambridgeshire District Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on the processing and determination of strategic planning applications, working with the Planning Team Leader to mentor Planning Officers, and matrix managing Planning Officers to support the delivery of major projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the processing and determination of strategic planning applications
  • Work with the Planning Team Leader to mentor Planning Officers
  • Matrix manage Planning Officers to support the delivery of major projects
  • Lead and progress strategic and major planning applications
  • Assist with embedding a 'can do' and 'open for business' culture within the service

Requirements

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent
  • Professional RTPI planning qualification of 5 years experience in a planning environment
  • Significant experience in town planning and experience of managing multiple major and complex planning applications for residential and commercial development
  • Successful planning appeal record
