Support Worker (SEMH) Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker (SEMH) to join our team in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. As a Support Worker (SEMH), you will provide essential care and support to children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) for each child, ensuring their social and emotional development is addressed.
  • Act as the primary contact between the school, parents, and external agencies, ensuring seamless communication and support for each child.
  • Collaborate with teachers, care staff, and external professionals to create a supportive environment that encourages the child's growth and eventual reintegration into society.
  • Support the whole child - socially, emotionally, and academically - by fostering a nurturing and structured environment.
Requirements:
  • A compassionate and nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Experience working with ISPs and an understanding of EHCP goals.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
