Senior Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Real Estate Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate estimates for main contractor projects across various industries, procurement strategies, and contract types.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse tender documentation to identify scope of works, sub-packages, and materials for enquiry;
  • Review tender information and compile trade-specific packages for supply chain pricing;
  • Produce trade-specific quantified Bills of Quantities to assist supply chain pricing;
  • Manage and answer Tender Queries, liaising with pricing supply chain to address concerns;
  • Produce Detailed Pricing Schedules for bid submission;
  • Assess and adjudicate subcontractor returns, checking for completeness, accuracy, liability, risk, price fixity, etc.;
  • Produce pricing notes to mitigate risk and clarify bid basis.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of estimating experience, with ability to work alone on tenders;
  • Quantity Surveying or Estimating-related degree/qualification;
  • Determination to excel within the role, executing responsibilities with due care & diligence, and attention to detail;
  • Technically familiar and cost aware, with extensive knowledge of construction materials and products, and labour;
  • Ability to understand and question tender documentation;
  • IT literate, familiar with MS Office products, and proprietary estimating software;
  • Commercially aware, able to identify commercial risk & opportunity;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to liaise with colleagues and clients.
