Restaurant Operations Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all 'back of house' and kitchen activities, including the production of meals to the highest standards within target service times. They will also assist the Coffee Shop Manager with day-to-day operations and cover for their duties in their absence.
Key Tasks- Manage the production of meals to meet quality and service standards.
- Oversee the processing of washup and table service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including maintaining a 5* Food Standards Agency Rating standard.
- Manage stock rotation, labelling, and dating to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Train and supervise staff to ensure they adhere to company procedures and policies.
- Monitor and control wastage, temperature checks, and cleaning schedules.
- Ensure accurate completion of records, including wastage reports and supplier provenance.
- Purchase goods from approved suppliers and manage stocktaking.
- Organise and control day-to-day labour, including staff presentation and uniform compliance.
- Ensure staff are happy and motivated, and refer any issues to the line manager.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Take necessary measures to minimise risks involved in employing young persons and prevent accidents arising from lone, out of hours, or remote working.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with knowledge of managing and motivating people, and an in-depth understanding of how a restaurant functions. Previous experience working in the industry is essential for this role.
